What is Photoluminescent?
Photoluminescent solutions require no power whatsoever. They are the most eco friendly solution we offer. Made from almost completely aluminum, these solutions bring a new meaning to the term energy efficient.
How does it work?
The technology uses the ambient light (the general illumination) in the room to provide the energy necessary to charge the sign. Light is absorbed into the photoluminescent particles and is emitted when lights in the room go off. Photoluminescent is an ideal solution for institutions, airports, or apartment communities who need to comply with new standards required by law requiring the egress systems of buildings to be upgraded. Our Photoluminescent Exit Signs come in 50, 75 ft. viewing distances and are listed with UL, US, and Canada. They are listed with the California State Fire Marshall … one of the most stringent in the country. These signs do require light to perform and a minimum 5 foot candles are required at the face of the sign to ensure it will function properly. Most offices and hallways have three times the required light.

Real life scenario (exit signs): Building inspector comes to issue a permit to occupy a new or existing building. They notice there are no exit signs on the lower level of the entire facility. The refuse the owner his occupancy certificate until lower level signs are installed to compliance. The owner is faced with two options:
